the many colors of love
love of money, love of self, love of others
what have you? the spinning of tales,
like a spider's web becoming a ever thicker
fog. till the walls etch carvings of their own,
they too have love, love of bricks, love of
witnessing a drunkard call down spirits, too strong
for him to handle. love of spirits as he collapses
unto the ground. a child of wonder, it is a wonder
when everything is unknown. each thread begins
to stitch on clothing becoming a tapestry. fly
it high in the sky, till the sun too gets covered
and chimeras hop about in this falsehood, but
there is none to break this spell. till the teenager
finds the cracks on the wall, as bricks begin to slide,
down without insurance. it's all gone down the drain
with fraudsters rushing off to tapestries in the
clouds, the dismisses come with frowns, disapproving
looks. that brat! till a brat become adult. and now
the bricks have filled up the sea, the clouds take
on the chimeras eager to play their part of disillusionment.
come hither. doled eyed youths follow charisma, a
hope of lost rainbows weaved out when love of self
triumphs. what's in it for me? but the accuser cast
his own shadows and the rainbows have gone white.
it's all in the pudding, the proof that is - a drunkard
wakes up from his stupor, his spirit gone. you know what
they say when awakening comes: then the bridge collapses
when too many people trudge upon it. they're all running
from that chaos, of love gone wrong. why don't you love me?
they say. each transaction becoming another fake smile.
and fake just doesn't buy love. it's all that air that has gone
into the head. then the pop finally came and when it did,
the adult did see first love grasped. how wild. then fade,
when knowledge went inside the heart. then tried again,
and again - to catch that love. and often settled for a transaction.
