Pedro takes a turn at Val
They meet in a town and one suddenly found conversation easy for Pedro
was like a best friend he had dearly missed and Val begins to tell his story of
a lost mission but his life was better that way for now he was enjoying
the blissful life of a man who has everything, of companionship, luxury and
fun. So much fun he says to Pedro except that sometimes in the night,
he finds himself in crying spells and he believes it is PTSD from the horrors
of the past. Horrors indeed! Pedro laughed and chatted with Val,
that we've all seen the ugly face of fate, dishing out cards we
rather not have, it gets shoved to us still and we bear
and grin. So we do what is best for us, eh? And it is a rational, logical,
smart choice Val took up. And as for meaning, it is meaningful is it
not to live each day in plenty? The fine words left unsaid seemed to say
so much as Pedro seemed to want to speak, and thought better
of it. He was staring at the many dead marching past, the dead that the neucromancer had
called up, they lay about watching, haunting but never
actually making any decisive action. It is better to smile than cry.
