who is to blame?
and it was not me, i was just
following the script -
my boss told me to follow
and he was doing it because
his boss told him do. and you know
he had lots to lose.
so he blamed it all on me!
when i scurried like a rat in high
beam headlamps -
don't look at me like that!
but of course everyone did,
when everyone could find a cobweb
too tangly: all knots and what not.
i can't deal with this *shit*
because being politically correct
seems to be part of the result
and hey, who doesn't want to win?
so tell me, tell the audience
looking to point fingers,
just not at them -
when the slow attrition never breaks
the wave. never echoes back from a wall
too solid to allow a reflection.
you know, i am solid right,
just doing my job -
while the world continues to
assign blame.
too quick becomes a misjudgment
when the results do not aligen
with a fat purse.
too quick is perfectly fine
when it means a fresh
of - something cool like cucumber
but cucumbers aren't cool.
and then the tangled knots
begin,
the frowns.
you know of when to unplug
from the data centers
heated up - but it is blasphemy
these days to say something
incoherent to the rising waves
refusing to be shut down
even when the dribbles
are all that is left
of despondent you -
saying
who is to blame.
with one arm cast out into that far
out ideal
the other of suffering, of embracing heat
that melts candles
a plastic face cannot keep up with this
intensity.
allow for some grievance,
and someone else has to yell of course.
who is to blame?
it keeps going around,
ain't you tired of this charade?
i am. just lost my shirt, and pants
today.
when told i was wrong to follow
that script
and it never benefited a a victim
whose only complain is:
i don't want to judge, be the bad guy,
i just want to say -
this system sucks ass.
and everyone keeps tossing and turning
unable to do anything different
because it is one wave after another
and we're all just
trying to keep up with appearances.
