traveling between worlds on a fulcrum
a spyglass on one end and out
the other comes a mirror of me
becoming you in deep hot seat.
the entanglements dissolve when
hammer splashes on water adapting
to solid unchanging. always relent.
you said to me, to dig beneath surface
i found roots that was once me. no longer
held to bindings tight. it's just noise.
then a seat became empty when neither
of us played tug of war. the ropes slipped
past our hands covered with slime, ooops.
fell on our asses, with rude exclamations
when sitting on the fence meant a razor burn,
neither of us wanted to be hammer or water.
so we traveled from the first dot appearing,
that north star each of us said is true, with
heaven and hell oscillating in between.
back and forth, the ropes once again anchored
to our arms, sweat bleeding out of souls unyielding
when a fulcrum swings back in an arc like wave.
slams. took the wind right off my chest,
maybe you heard it too - that thunder clap
it sounded loud in my mind, then the spy glass broke.
truly marvelous don't you think?
half heaven, half hell, and all this time
to decide if either is real.
slammed. the vibration got into my heart,
not just my mind. those roots crawled
within, and from my face the first leaves appeared.
changing, unchanging, masquerading -
when ropes finally snapped with no fence
to sit upon when the seat too got swept by the arc.
what a wave. surely the flesh has felt the
signal from the soul! slam again, this time
it felt like drowning when it became obvious.
the spyglass oscillating between me and you,
that eternity apart: with a sea turned red
when i started to sink for water became light.
and i was never too sure later on what actually
took place when the explosion in the ears
rocked the safe boat. no longer present.
i guess it must have drifted off, when the flesh
took one look at the face unimpressed with years
of toning, shaping, forging, reshaping.
of what could be either me or you. but the heart
does not lie. when the red sea finally found that hole
to seep into. it drowned out what was left.
with bits and pieces still etched on this beach,
carved words in the sand. i think i wrote this
yesterday before the waves took them away.
and i was once you, you me. till the paths
twisted, churned, the sea boil did boil
when flesh finally yielded to the spirit.
there. i hear it again. that song, that vibration
knocking the wind off me. with the first green
appearing at the bottom of a sea no longer wet.
that's me. that's you. with an arc slicing
through time, past regrets, past joy
into fulcrums our soul hung on to.
