this one bites
justice,
what is it? the man
apprehended
said this is kidnap
but the lonely enforcer
had a bunch of
rules to memorize;
was missing the last paragraph - that is going to
look awkward
then slams the door hard: next thing
justice was dangled on
mere observation and interpretation;
the cat snarled at the dog: barks do
hurt my ears;
claws at the ugly brute
whose whine sent the machinery into gear.
it moved like someone running uphill -
and next thing the zoo staffs were placing
quarrelsome animals in separate cages;
both were adamant they were innocent,
a jury was called in for staffers gone soft;
paper folders piling to the sky
they had barely time to breathe before
another folder got placed on another.
groans, like stiff joints slowly testing
kinetics - yes, a walk feels like a run
do not stop breathing
as the juries too got brought in having bias,
more folders on top of each other - this never ends
and the mediator came to try and match
a loving story concocted last night;
it really wasn't how things were, but can you blame a dog
for being a dog?
and each eyes looked the same to each
eye judging another eye, another eye
still making judgments
that all came so very s h o r t
but of course
some sugar and oil
can certainly help keep onlookers happy with their lot.
then the puddings came, then the icing came, then the cherry
and later on everyone was too exuberant on cakes and chocolates
that how, why, who, it no longer mattered.
it never does,
until the clock has run out of battery,
each animal having eaten their fill
but fishes cannot live on air,
neither do cows breathe underwater
and i saw a fish-cow hybrid that
could do both, barely.
grinning while chewing turd,
it stank
but i saw where this was going -
go on, i encouraged
till
the shit in the fields had done out,
the green grass just had too much shit
and that's where the problem is.
