The promise of a Knight
I will hold steadfast my faith,
the burning citadels are alive
with cries of my fallen brothers
and sisters, each face I remember
even though it be 20 long years.
They are fresh like this morning's flower
blooming as her petals
blush before the sun,
crimson red.
Anguished hearts, blood thirsty
ravens cawing at corpse laid out
and I will charge into the underground,
into their spy nest
for it was one of them
that gave the keys to the fortress.
I will seek him out,
beneath sun and stars,
the canopies will hide him
not.
