the mind of a wolf and prey

June 27, 2026 · Mood

inside the belly of a wolf, i found odd companions - never did mingle with them in days when grass was green, though much in common i began to see of rushing wind, of howling grief, exuberance and depths of getting smashed, rock bottom and then some. a pattering of feet, a rummaging of old drawers to find hidden treasures/a gasp when green began to fill on a bent branch unable to taste the light. the cookie jar still locked up, with letters tucked between each wafer. then the words tugged at memories passing, reenact the same scene with a twist. a crunch, bones breaking with the marrow like light. more companions slide down, this slippery slope quite ingenious because it's just a slide down right? fun. with wind rushing past ears, what a sound of delight, of bliss, of dazzling stars twinkling away till the morning dims out players with too much air. then the bottom of the well is reached, sludge becoming a sticky mess in the throat, cough and spittle away while onlookers give wide eyed stares. how did you come here? and fervent stars dazzle once again to tell of stories bold. howling cries in the cave, the tug of instinct not quite right. then gravity does her work with the spin, twirl and dizzy waves upon waves where a yellow glare is seen to be just another north star pointing right though the jaws opening wide should have put a stop to this madness. then on to a slide, it's just for fun. like honey, like bursting stars filling the damp universe not able to feel. the growling aches rumble like thunder, the munching goes on, with meat being torn, mastication does her work till the juice overflows, froths right out, a rabid wolf grinning at the green green grass - it's heaven. it's beauty. it's a calling. and the grass responded in kind. ate the grin like kids finding letters tucked inside mountains of wafers buried deep inside one cookie jar bursting inside the belly of a wolf. too much spittle they took as kindred spirits. they were spirits all right. just not kindred.
