the hedonist and the dare devil

chains can be called many names but none is as fine as honey where the fly enters the nest, licks the web without coercion, then comes along the spider whose face is one i have known with years of testing, pulling, tugging, till the tautness breaks. landmine. blows up in my face, a spell gone wrong when bubbles go back where they came from, in the mind's creative zest to spin something out of nothing, a flesh digs roots into fertile soil fuming, lusting, craving for life to tell her stories in a dead world. black emptiness, forlorn, void with only memories of what had been - an angel's nostalgia of better times raised high. bleak, fermented, discarded, labeled traitor. just like judas, but isn't 30 pieces of silver worth a soul? which is nothing more than a well told nursery tale and boys and girls must grow up. to face the glittering diamonds spun of hope and valor, this one's for you, a stranger said to the wanderer who has been thrown a gift. how light the steps, how happy the memories when smiles dazzle the skin. the iceberg is not yet pricked, the sunk ship not yet discovered with teenagers eager to rush to battlegrounds and loot the treasure island. with worn out adults given grim faces not yet appreciated by youth's idealism eager to spin too their own version of diamonds in the sand. eager to be part of the larger game those shrewd eyes shift about when the cookie jar is sniffed out. found it grandma! cookies like ornaments dangle about in youth's nervous hands, they wiggle about trying to break free, where anxious energy emanate from a heart not quite certain of breaking points, a cliff's edge and a kite's soaring heat. engulfed, inflamed, till the phoenix transforms when dead ashes come back to live. discovery, rediscovery, till the paths laid out are zoned out. covered with granite, with bridges and towering castles reaching towards energy no longer anxious. blended twists, vast ocean yawn away till pleasure dulls. the sirens swoon, the maidens blush, the knights swim with heavy armor cast away - while looming debts balloon to seize emotions unlocked. they're like butterflies dying by the second, each second passes like a bullet taking another aim at helplessness open. break away, the vices tug, pull, whisper with lovely realities bewitching the sunken ships no longer able to set sail to wilder days. then. maidens spit with vehemence when honey hardens, they've become haggard croons bemoaning days long lost to whimsical knights losing valor when duty calls. then. spirits showed with faces thick from pretense long, greed casts off her mask as a spider licks miss muffet no longer sitting still. she is screaming, she is hysterical when curds and whey they balloon up and form seeds within, sprouted out like little good greens one sunny day. they've told her more is wonder, wonder is all and everything has a price. she ate it all up till a hideous witch glared back from those spidery eyes. "that's not me" but the spider idly spreads out the contract signed: your signature isn't it? woe to days, months, years dashed by - woe to lives chased with merry pretense - till the daredevil raises the anvil, till the clay and potter once again dance as one body. then. do sweet chains loosen their fervor, their enchanting song of wonder is all, that armor is a drag, then the green shoots turn to barks, crusty uneven wood no longer talking back to fertile soil yearning to relive back memories long gone.
