the fearless god
could strike at will,
with impunity!
could hammer the wall,
no one dares say a word.
courage carries no weight when
all powerful means. do as i say or else.
i've always found it strange that gods disrobe
and become quite ordinary men
beneath all that bravado and speeches,
they're actually just like you and me.
ordinary, plain, selfish, hungry, needy
once the crowds stop their worship,
foot shifts, legs tremble, eyes beseech
an angry roar comes about!
roar, roar, roar
the angry impertinent god blast another wall
down,
this time the wall did not shatter,
it simply blended between a god's will
and men - try again, and again and again
with no luck, so power, no strength, no success.
then fear, imagination, anxiety crept in -
then it was no longer do as you please,
equality is a damn word
when one is used to doing whatever
one wants.
of course at this time, damnation
has lost it's meaning.
