Jester enters the hidden road

September 27, 2023 · Unfold

(Pedro): Don't take things too seriously, it is always said and heard and I found myself wandering in places unknown, and it was quite splendid really for I've encountered few travelers here and the road, the plants and trees seem to gather tightly around me, whispering secrets of buried bones filled with gems. And of course everyone knows the dead need no gold, the flies they buzz around all day and the bats come screeching at night but I find it comforting, to know that at least I am alive to fill in the gap, the holes are gutted out, earth's flesh give way as I find myself holding on artifacts accursed, they give me the thrills for it is so very forbidden and I am a non believer. The devil smiled for he loves non believers. Non believers are the most fun to play with. For he vanishes not, he diminishes not, he is adequate as he is and believing does not make him more so. It's time to play the hidden road vomited out the guts, the decaying flesh and all too soon I knew what I was in for. Of course, by the time I did realize this, the road had already closed and I was left with much treasure and much curse.
