a nudge, a push at the right time

March 12, 2026 · Spirit

it's easy to regret when the deed is done, it's easy to apologize when lines are crossed, it's easy to mistake correction for wipe the slate clean, it's easy to have a new year's resolution when brutal tides have not hit, it's easy to go numb when the endless tasks don't seem to end, it's easy to be friends during calm weathers and no sacrifice is called for, it's easy to get derailed as inertia halts progress - feelings emerge, bottoms, a mind without activity, physical lethargy: take another tub of ice cream, stay in bed all day and night, the world is so very quiet when you're not a customer or client, or interacting with colleagues obligated to act as team mates, or bosses having to give feedback the brain barely registers a signal when flat line appears to be norm of how things are, that's when the devil nudges, hints, throws a bone what have you to lose? and feelings are real, flesh is real, the mind distorted knowledge is flat line an empty promise the heart knows it not not anymore in days like this a vice glitters. yummy, delicious, succulent apple - it is whatever you want it to be. want to feel alive? take a bite. there, chew slowly, s a v o r this. don't rush now, there is all the time to clasp your hands, bow low, say those magic words i've changed. but the devil knows you better. he comes today as a good samaritan, a fellow church goer, let's go some good deeds and on the way you can now swallow that juicy fat piece of apple flesh. there, that wasn't so hard was it?
